Hourly Wage

Key Purpose

As a Floor Technician with ISS Guckenheimer, you will be responsible for the overall floor care and maintenance of hard surface and carpeted areas including those in offices, corridors, lobbies, entrances, stairwells, break rooms, and other public areas. 

Responsibilities Include

• Stripping and waxing hard surface floors ensuring that old wax, dirt, and stains are removed and new was is properly applied to protect and enhance the appearance of flooring
• Routine mopping (dry and damp), buffing and burnishing on hard surface floors and stairwells
• Vacuuming, shampooing, bonneting, and extracting carpets, stairwells, and upholstery
• Perform routine and preventative maintenance checks on all floor care equipment
• Secure the work area and post proper safety notices for other users of the space prior to beginning work
• Daily cleaning and janitorial duties as assigned, such as vacuuming, dusting, cleaning and stocking restrooms and breakrooms, emptying trash and transporting to disposal area, sweeping and mopping floors
• Be committed to providing and working in a safe environment by
• Following all rules, policies, and procedures
• Always using required personal protective equipment
• Maintaining a clean, sanitary work environment
• Ensuring all equipment and tools are in safe, working order prior to using
• Using caution signs and barriers to alert others to wet or unsafe floors

Ideal Candidate Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 1½ years of experience as a Floor Technician
• Knowledge and experience with stripping, waxing, and burnishing floors
• Proven experience operating various pieces of floor care equipment such as high-speed buffers, extractors, wet vacs, pressure washers, and auto scrubbers
• Previous janitorial or laborer experience in a commercial facility or industrial setting is preferred
• Must be a team player and committed to working in a quality environment
• Demonstrates exceptional customer service skills
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results
