About the Role
This newly created position primarily supports HR leaders working across two unique and diverse company functions: Business Strategy (encompassing a wide variety of sub-functions, including global, real estate, facilities, procurement, loyalty, and strategy, all at different stages of organizational evolution), and Global Supply Chain (including the international product sourcing division, global transportation network, and logistics/operations through our distribution and contact center network). The role provides for a wide variety of work with initiatives covering the entire employee life cycle. You’ll be responsible for providing HR generalist support and partnership that contributes to an engaged workforce and a more productive business. You will also be responsible for supporting the execution of people strategies, responding to day-to-day HR needs across the businesses we support, supporting the HR team in developing and executing talent management strategies, and partnering with key Gap Inc. HR solution centers (HR Operations Center, Workday team, Talent Management, Employee Relations, Recruiting, Total Rewards, etc.) to deliver results against the people strategies. You will regularly analyze HR data and deliver impactful insights and ideas to support the business. Finally, you will own a range of special projects which vary based on business needs and requirements.What You'll Do
- Provide support on people and organizational issues collectively, directly and through matrix management across the organization, leveraging resources, programs and tools to achieve desired outcomes
- Actively participate with other HR team members and leaders on people programming
- Implement strategies to improve employee engagement year over year, as measured through employee surveys
- Analyze HR metrics and reporting to deliver key insights and identify business opportunities, and work with leaders to develop and implement solutions
- Support talent management and succession planning activities within assigned client groups and matrixed organizations
- Proactively partner with the business and HR partners in Talent Acquisition and Learning & Development to support strategies to strengthen or fill gaps, as needed, to ensure a ready now talent pipeline
- Deploy appropriate retention strategies to promote organizational stability
- Manage a range of special projects to be assigned by HR leadership
- Perform other duties as assigned
Who You Are
- Proven success and expertise as a Human Resource generalist
- Comfort with most HR disciplines (employee relations, compensation, benefits, organization development, talent management, learning & development, talent acquisition)
- Ability to analyze data to deliver key insights and translate into recommended talent solutions
- Strong project management skills to conceptualize, plan, and execute against agreed budget & deliverables
- High level of personal and professional integrity and ethics (authentic, compassionate, genuine and honest); good communicator; good listening skills
- Moderate to Advanced level Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Strong business orientation, drive for results, and desire to win
- Strong critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Agile professional who excels in a fast-paced environment and thrives on continuously changing strategies to drive business needs forward
- The role may occasionally require meetings/calls outside typical US working hours, as the HR teams support global leaders and businesses. Flexibility is needed.
