About the role

Desert Regional Medical Center is a 385-bed acute-care hospital classified as a stroke receiving center and level 2 trauma facility with an innovative, patient centered and evidence-based Rehabilitation Services Department.  Our compassionate team provides a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services, including acute care rehabilitation, joint replacement & spinal surgery, neurosurgery, ICU, Telemetry, step-down care, skilled nursing, as well as outpatient therapy, hand and lymphedema clinics. 

GENERAL DUTIES:
The Clinical Manager is responsible for the day-to-day nursing operations in Radiology.  The Clinical Manager manages RN staff at the department level in a cost-effective manner.  The Clinical Manager promptly and fully investigates and resolves complaints of patients, visitors, staff, and physicians, advising management/administration appropriately.  The Clinical Manager demonstrates an ability to respond and provide direction in changing RN workload during low volume and high volume situations. The Clinical Manager accepts responsibility for helping employees understand difficult administrative decisions. Access to all Patient Health Information for treatment purposes only. 
 

DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC DUTIES:    
To include but not limited to:

•    Working with Department Leadership, makes clinical assignments based on need and skill level.
•    Completes performance evaluations for designated staff.
•    Assists the Manager and Director with and provides input into the capital budget.
•    Participates in management meetings and initiatives as appropriate.
•    Act as clinical resource for staff members.
•    Promotes a cooperative environment for patients and staff.
•    Participate in interviews for staff selection.
•    Takes workload assignments as appropriate and necessary.
•    In cooperation with Department Management, schedules and maintains nursing vacation and work schedules.
•    Demonstrate effective communication and collaboration skills with members of the Radiology services team and physicians.
•    Serves as liaison and facilitates problem resolution and communication between nursing units, and other hospital departments.
•    Responsible for supply chain management for the Interventional department including vendor related relationships.  This includes ordering supplies and maintaining all consignment related tasks and other related duties assigned.  
•    Maintains an efficient workflow for Radiologist on a daily basis.
•    Performs other duties as assigned. 

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:
•    Graduate of accredited professional nursing program.
•    Bachelor of Science Degree - Nursing
•    Current RN licensure in the State of California.
•    Current American Heart Association BLS certification (maintain current at all times).
•    Current American Heart Association ACLS Certification (maintain current at all times).
•    Current American Heart Association PALS Certification (maintain current at all times).
•    Demonstrated clinical competence and leadership skills.
•    3 to 5 years’ clinical experience.
•    Effective verbal and written communication skills to communicate with people on all levels and able to maintain positive working relationships with patients, families, and co-workers inter- and intra-departmentally.
•    Possess active listening skills.
•    Demonstrates knowledge of current nursing theory and practice.
•    Compassionate, non-judgmental patient caregiver and advocate.
•    Must be able to tolerate physically and mentally demanding work.
•    Completion of mandatory programs to meet TJC standards is a job requirement
