About the role

Overview

JIAMDO supports the CJCS, through the Director Joint Staff J-8, in their responsibilities to coordinate development of air and missile defense capabilities. JIAMDO facilitates collaboration between Services, CCMDs, and agencies to identify existing and emerging capabilities and will foster innovation and integration through support to simulations, technology demonstrations, and RDT&E projects.

Responsibilities

  • Critical member of a 3-person contract team that leads and manages the analytical underpinnings for the Joint Regional IAMD capability mix studies
  • Coordinates:
    • With stakeholders to establish the study objectives, scenario development and measures of effectiveness: Joint Staff, combatant commands, intelligence community, Cost Assessment and Program Evaluation (CAPE)
    • With FFRDCs (Johns Hopkins APL), Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), Services, and the Missile Defense Agency to ensure the modeling and simulation accurately portray red and blue capabilities
    • Extensive technical interchanges with the Intelligence Community (IC) to develop and improve upon understanding and simulation representations of adversary air and missile system capabilities.
  • Develop adversary threat scenario descriptions and adversary threat fire plans (air-breathers, ballistic, and the emerging/challenging threats) to support the Joint Regional IAMD Capability Mix

Qualifications

  • Masters Degree in STEM
  • 20+ years of military experience
  • TS/SCI or SAP access Required
  • Air and missile defense specialization
