Maintenance Coordinator
RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES
The Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for the safe, environmentally compliant, and efficient operation of the Eagle Creek Hydroelectric Plants. The Maintenance Coordinator is utilized as a resource to execute repairs, tests, and upgrades to electrical and mechanical machinery, control equipment, and circuitry, motor control devices, switch panels, transformer, generator windings, solenoids and other equipment and components according to engineering data and knowledge of principals. The Maintenance Coordinator will coordinate with the Divisional Manager, Regional Manager, as well as the Operators for any planning or scheduling of any of their duties.
Maintenance Coordinator will:
· Provide coordination, technical assistance, and resolution when electrical, mechanical, or engineering problems are encountered before, during, and after construction.
· Allocate workload and supervise staff
· Coordinate and modify prototypes, parts, assemblies, and systems
· Coordinate with Engineers and other personnel to identify, define, and solve developmental problems
· Manage relationships with contactors and service providers
· Develop maintenance procedures and ensure implementation
· Prepare project costs, plan, and oversee all repair and installation activities
· Evaluate engineering proposals, shop drawings and design comments for sound engineering practices and conform with established safety and design criteria, and make recommendations
· Coordinate all testing and inspections for quality control and assurance programs, report findings and recommendations
· Keep the Divisional Manager, Regional Manager, and or Operator informed of all unusual conditions that might affect the safety, plant operations, and license requirements
· Maintain security measures at all facilities, including closing and locking of all access gates and buildings.
· Address safety concerns in a timely manner, necessary to provide for safety, public safety or asset preservation
· Comply and enforce all applicable company standards, practices, and policies
· Confirm the operations of all alarm and monitoring systems
· Maintain and enforce all applicable local, state, and federal environmental permits and regulatory requirements
· Assist/coordinate start-up and shut down all project equipment and auxiliary systems related to the plant
· Maximize plant efficiencies
· Coordinate with the planning, organization, and management for all facility outages
· Coordinate with the development and improvement of operational policies and procedures
· Coordinate routine preventative and predictive maintenance checks and checklists, as assigned
· Coordinate with scheduling and planning for all plant maintenance and repairs
· Coordinates and promotes continual education and training
· Become proficient with computers, written skills and verbal communications
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Physical requirements include standing on feet for extended periods, stair and ladder climbing; and routinely lifting up to 50 pounds. Protective equipment must be worn in the performance of duties (e.g. hard hats, safety glasses, air masks, ear protection, chemical suits, hot gloves and high voltage protective equipment, etc.). Work with hazardous materials will be required on a periodic basis. Works shift work and is on call as needed. Occasional work in adverse weather conditions will be required. Work on or around water is required.
