Position Overview

DCG is seeking an experienced, strategic financial operations professional to join our executive team. This individual will leverage experience in financial modeling and reporting in a federal contracting environment context to execute financial strategy and ensure the company’s fiscal strength and stability. The CFO will work at the strategic and tactical levels to oversee and execute critical financial operations while driving long-term planning and reporting. The ideal candidate will blend demonstrated accounting, finance, and business analysis skills with excellent verbal and written communications capabilities for formal and informal settings. Currently, this role does not have any direct reports; it requires extensive cross-functional collaboration skills and hands-on execution across multiple elements of DCG's corporate operations. 

Location

Fully Remote; the selected candidate will work during DCG’s core Eastern Daylight Time business hours.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Leadership: Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting and modeling, financial reporting, and compliance with government regulations and contract requirements
    • Budgeting: Advise in the development and implementation of DCG’s budget, ensuring alignment with overall business goals
    • Long-term strategy: Shape the company’s financial strategy, ensuring sustainability and growth
    • Financial forecasting and modeling: Anticipate future trends, risks, and opportunities through forecasting and modeling
    • Internal controls: Calibrate and enforce policies that improve the reliability of financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and data integrity
  • Strategic Planning: Formulate and execute robust financial strategies that align with company objectives, driving sustainable growth and value creation
  • Reporting: Ensure transparency in financial reporting and proactive communication on key financial metrics
    • Compile regular, timely, and validated financial updates to company executives that provide actionable insights into financial performance, risks, and growth opportunities
    • Oversee governance and compliance standards, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and investor expectations while upholding the highest standards of financial integrity and accountability
    • Ensure all financial reporting is compliant with regulations, such as tax laws, GAAP, and GSA
    • Prepare financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow) for internal and external stakeholders
    • Ensure DCG’s compliance with financial regulations and maintains ethical standards in financial reporting
    • Manage internal and external audits to ensure transparency in financial operations
    • Oversee compliance with federal, state, and local requirements
  • Tactical Oversight: Execute and direct day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and financial record-keeping
    • Control costs and improve operational efficiencies to increase profitability
    • Ensure resources are allocated effectively across departments and service lines to maximize returns
    • Ensure DCAA-compliant environment for all functions across company operations and contracts
    • Verify and validate appropriate CLINs and LCATs, hours, and rates across team members against pricing data from contracts and detailed price proposals
    • Oversee bi-monthly payroll process to include employee reimbursements, compensation and benefits changes, bonus payments, and tracking and updating PTO balances
    • Oversee monthly closing of the books to include reconciliation of all accounts (bank, payroll, credit cards, etc.), amortization of prepaid expenses, depreciation of fixed assets, posting all revenue and expenses, and related activities
