About the role
Description
Vistra is seeking 10+ expert facilitators to plan, coordinate, and execute meetings, workshops, conferences, retreats, and other events for the Department of Transportation. The facilitator will ensure meetings and events are conducted professionally and effectively. The facilitator will support various types of meetings, which may include virtual, in-person, and hybrid formats in Washington, DC. W2 (Full-Time/Part-Time) or 1099 options!
Requirements
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct qualitative interviews and deploy surveys to gather input for meeting/event agendas.
- Define goals, align strategic direction and drive solutions.
- Create draft agendas and coordinate review and feedback; incorporate feedback and finalize agendas for meetings/events.
- Organize and lead in-person, virtual, and hybrid meetings/events.
- Ensure adherence to the meeting/event agenda, guide and control the meeting/event, maintain balanced discussions, and ensure maximum participant engagement.
- Plan and utilize facilitation techniques such as brainstorming, small group discussions, and consensus-building.
- Provide and communicate detailed meeting/event summaries.
- Craft meeting/event evaluation reports, including recommendations and next steps.
- Travel to multiple locations in Washington DC is expected.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A bachelor’s degree in business administration, organizational development, psychology, communications or a related field is required.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience leading and facilitating strategic planning sessions for organizations, required for Junior level.
- A minimum of 7+ years of experience leading and facilitating strategic planning sessions for organizations, required for mid-senior level.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
- Ability to identify key business drivers and trends and develop strategies to address them.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and managing multiple stakeholders.
- Familiarity with various strategic planning frameworks and methodologies.
- Facilitation Certifications preferred, but not required (examples: Certified Professional Facilitator (CPF), Certified Master Facilitator (CMF), Agile Coaching Skills - Certified Facilitator (ACS-CF).
- US Citizenship Required: Due to the requirements of the federal contract that this position supports, U.S. citizenship is required. Citizenship will be confirmed via I-9/E-Verify at the start of employment.
