LifeFlight Event Medicine 50Job Summary:
AEMTs in Event Medicine will work both Independently and as a team. AEMTs must be capable of working independently utilizing assessment skills to correctly utilize our protocols to deliver patient care within the Tennessee AEMT scope of practice within the defined Vanderbilt AEMT scope of practice. Responsible for triage care in the field at small and complex events. Responsible for effective communication to ensure safe and high -quality patient care onsite and assist with transports as needed.Our Event Medicine AEMTs provide emergency medicine at both small and large events. The ability to work independently is critical, since you may be the only EMS person at the event based on size and contractual agreements. Based on this need to work independently, we are able to consider only AEMTs with 911 or Emergency Department experience.
Position Hours
• Various Shifts ranging from 3 hours to 16 hours throughout the week with the majority of shift opportunities on nights and weekends.
Department/Unit Summary:
The Event Medicine division of Vanderbilt LifeFlight was started in the fall of 2008, when Vanderbilt Medical Center became the official healthcare provider of the Nashville Predators. Since 2008 we have expanded and provide medical services for patrons, performers, and players across Middle Tennessee.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Complete documentation of transports/patient care performed using Vanderbilt and Unit specific compliance policy.
• Safely transport patients utilizing Vanderbilt and Unit specific safety policy and accreditation standards. Maintains equipment per regulatory and compliance standards.
• Communicate/collaborates effectively to meet patient and team needs.

TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES
• Emergency Management (Novice): Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate emergency management in practical applications of moderate difficulty.
• Critical Thinking (Novice): Displays clarity, accuracy, precision, consistency, relevance, and sound evidence in the successful completion of tasks and projects. Demonstrates rational and disciplined thought as manifested in results.
• Assessing, Intervening & Stabilizing Patients (Novice): Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate assessing, intervening and stabilizing patients in practical applications of moderate difficulty. Generally works under the direction of others while accomplishing assignments.
• Drug Interactions (Novice): Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate knowledge of Drug Interactions in practical applications of moderate difficulty.
