Production Planner/Scheduler I  - Schedules the productive equipment at the facility.  Must effectively utilize all plant resources and equipment to insure high productivity and low scrap rates while meeting all customer availability dates as required.  Minimizes raw, in process, and finished goods inventory.

 

 

 

Part II – Job Functions

  • Originates daily production schedule and holds daily production scheduling and critical materials meetings with department heads and material planner/purchaser.  Publishes crewing requirements both short and long term.  Interfaces with sales service concerning schedules.
  • Acts as liaison to purchasing, making them aware of  raw material and WIP inventories.  Calculates the proper timing or ordering and receiving raw material inventories into the plant, board ink, and secondary packaging.
  • Optimizes the production schedule to assure total cartons are produced in a minimal time frame while ensuring minimum order quantity requirements and economic run quantities are met.
  • Assures responsibility for production schedule at multiple machine centers:  Sheeting, printing, cutting and finishing.
  • Directs ship floor activity maximizing productivity, minimizing scrap, while fulfilling customer requirements
  • Mixes copy on sheet/web to minimize waste and number of make-readies.

 

 

 

Part III – Job Specifications

 

  • Associate degree in a related field. 1-3 years manufacturing experience in flexible packaging preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have minimum training on shop floor reporting systems.
  • Knowledge in specialized scheduling training in planning and layout preferred
  • Must possess excellent customer-service skills.
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.

 

 

Pay Range:   $36,180.00 - $45,180.00
