Civil Engineer II

Zachry Engineering Corporation, (ZEC) is seeking a Civil Engineer II to join its collaborative team in Charlotte, NC.  This is a great opportunity to get involved in challenging and interesting design projects for various industrial and power clients.

• Experience with heavy civil sitework, grading construction, and soil compaction.

• Review construction drawings and specifications, and ensure the contractor performs grading and compaction operations in conformance with the lines and grades shown on the drawings and according to the specifications.

• Monitor installation of stormwater system in accordance with construction drawings and specifications.

• Experience with installations of erosion control devices.

• Coordinate with contractors and home office engineers on the contractor's request for information.

• Collaborate with team members on project tasks and assignments.

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited university.

• Minimum 4 years of Site Civil Engineering experience.

• Engineer in Training Certification or Professional Engineer licensure preferred.

• Experience with grading and Earthwork site design.

• Experience with Roadway / Paving design & specifications.

• Geotechnical knowledge (soil placement and compaction, sitework prep, roadway / heavy haul paving design). 

• Ability to travel and work from the construction site, per diem allowance will be provided.

• Excellent Communication and Presentation Skills (Verbal and Written).
