Summary

The Tours and Community Development Coordinator assists in plant and educational tours.
Promotes partnerships and implements programs that focus on Business and Community Development and Community Relations.
Helps develop and maintain trusting relationships across the organization and with local leaders and community organizations including local businesses, schools, educational organizations, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), non-profits, diverse communities and others in matters that directly relate to Palo Verde or nuclear.

Minimum Requirements

High school/GED plus five (5) years of experience in customer, client or community services focused positions.
Requires schedule flexibility for supporting evening and weekend events.


Preferred Special Skills, Knowledge, or Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree.
  • Coursework in communications-related field.
  • Possess organizational awareness and interpersonal communication skills, as well as public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Understanding of nuclear power industry.
  • Strong project and schedule coordination and process improvement focus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Internet searching.
  • Understanding of Arizona's diverse communities.

Major Accountabilities

1) Assists in scheduling and coordinating tours and presentations of Palo Verdes facilities (plant, Water Resources and Energy Education Center) and site educational packages with company representatives and local political/community partners.

2) Establishes relations with internal customers and leaders to organize participation for tours and events.

3) Responds to inquiries, requests and projects in a timely manner; facilitates the information flow between Palo Verde and potential visitors.

4) Provides multifaceted administrative support for the tour program by acting as point of contact.

5) Assists with coordinating company participation in community and charitable activities.

6) Assembles resource materials and may attend local events and trade shows.

7) Supports Palo Verde senior management with projects that support the station and community.

8) Works with internal and corporate engagement groups to help support communications initiatives.

9) Manages cross-organizational communication while maintaining line of sight to evolving schedules, conflicts and devises plans to mitigate accordingly, uses judgement to determine priority.
