Starting Salary Range:  Competitive Rate of Pay 

Position Summary: The primary responsibility of this position is to deliver engaging, high-quality instruction for non-credit business and leadership courses at Johnson County Community College (JCCC). Instructors may teach a variety of topics, including but not limited to communication, team dynamics, strategic planning, organizational leadership, project management, and other emerging areas based on industry needs. While most instructors teach multiple subjects, specialization in one area is acceptable. The ability to customize training for corporate clients is a valued bonus. Instruction should focus on practical, industry-relevant skills that support professional growth and workforce development. Training may be delivered on campus, virtually, or at client locations, depending on program and client needs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated expertise in one or more business or leadership topics (e.g., communication, team dynamics, strategic planning, organizational leadership, project management).
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in a business, leadership, or related field.
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills with the ability to engage adult learners.
  • Ability to design and deliver practical, skills-based instruction.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining a professional and inclusive classroom environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior teaching or training experience in adult education or corporate settings.
  • Ability to teach multiple topics within business and leadership.
  • Experience customizing training content for specific organizational needs.
  • Familiarity with current industry trends and workforce development practices.
  • Advanced certifications or graduate-level coursework in business, leadership, or related fields.
  • Proficiency with instructional technology and online learning platforms.
