PRN Orthopedic Trauma Surgery Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

About this role: 

As a PRN, as needed Orthopedic Trauma Surgery Advanced Practice Provider at Intermountain Health, you will work with a team of healthcare professionals committed to providing quality care and excellent patient experience. In this role you can expect to work on the Utah Valley Hospital Trauma Services team, seeing inpatient orthopedic surgical cases.

 In this role, you can anticipate:

• Practicing from Utah Valley Hospital in Provo, Utah
• Working PRN, as needed
• Potential for night, weekend, and holiday hospital coverage
• You can anticipate scheduled hours with Trauma Services where you will provide care for patients in the emergency department, inpatient units, trauma activations, or assisting in the OR
• No dedicated call requirement

What you’ll bring: 

• APRN or PA-C degree from an accredited program 
• Active, unobstructed Utah medical license, or the ability to obtain one 
• BLS certification and DEA 
• Ability to successfully complete Intermountain Health’s credentialing process

Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.

Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.

Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.
