What you’ll be doing:
The Delivery & Warehouse Team Lead assists the Delivery & Warehouse Manager with the day-to-day operations and supervision of the Warehouse & Delivery Team. These operations consist of picking and staging scheduled material for delivery, transporting material to customers at job sites, ensuring timely and safe delivery of all goods, providing industry leading customer service, load and unload materials at the warehouse, working in a fast-paced environment, training new team members on processes and safety protocol, maintaining a safe and clean work environment, and moving items that can weigh up to 75 lbs.
A day in the life as Delivery & Warehouse Team Lead might include:
- Teach, Coach, Mentor: Train new team members on procedures and safety protocol and ensure tenured employees uphold company standards.
- Leadership: Delegate tasks to team members to ensure operational deadlines are while monitoring individual performance.
- Inventory Management: Oversee accurate inventory counts to ensure all items are stored properly and safely, complete paperwork related to deliveries and maintain all inventory records.
- Transport Goods: Verify deliver of packages, cabinets, hardware, or other items to designated locations, adhering to scheduled timelines.
- Customer Service: Communicate with customers regarding delivery status, address any concerns, and ensure satisfaction.
- Team Player: Help load and unload vehicles, stage cabinets for delivery, organize inventory in the warehouse, lift and move items in the warehouse or on job sites, or occasionally drive trucks to deliver materials.
- Safety: Maintain a clean and safe work environment to include team members abide by all laws and regulations, perform upkeep and basic maintenance on fleet vehicles, and load and unload cargo properly.
Qualifications
What’s the work environment like for Delivery & Warehouse Team Lead:
- Full-time (40 hrs. minimum per week).
- Monday – Friday (typical work schedule includes 5am start time).
- Be available to work overtime and weekends as needed.
- Travel, where needed, to various job sites in North Carolina.
- Physical workspace: non-climate-controlled warehouse, seasonal/weather dependent temperature, loud noise, and construction/job site areas.
- Work conditions: able to stoop, lift, bend, and climb, walk long distances, and lift up to 75 lbs.
- This position has supervisory responsibilities.
What you’ll bring to the team:
- Be 21 years of age or older
- Valid driver’s license (including a clean driving record)
- (5) years driving experience required
- Able to pass DOT certification physical
- High School Diploma or GED (preferred)
- Effective communication skills including reading, writing, and listening
- Ability to work in a team environment or independently
- DOT certification preferred
- (3) years warehouse experience
- Leadership or supervisory experience
