We are currently seeking an Associate Vice President of Transportation – Pennsylvania Lead to be located in either our Harrisburg or Pittsburgh, PA office. This opening provides a flexible work schedule to meet individual needs through a hybrid work model (virtual and in-office).
Position Overview:
As the Associate Vice President of Transportation – Pennsylvania Lead, the primary responsibility will be to serve as the operational leader for Pennsylvania Transportation, providing leadership and direction to grow the firm’s core businesses, to add new markets and clients, and to broaden the capabilities of the operation.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the profitable operation of the business including revenue generation, growth of backlog, client engagement, oversight of office operations, cash management and overhead, and business development.
- Serve as the face of PRIME AE to our clients, as well as the local and regional communities.
- Oversee the work of Design Engineers and Engineering Technicians in the development and design of various types of highway, bridge, and traffic projects, including urban and rural roadways, interstates, interchanges, traffic management, transportation planning, highway safety, site planning, preparation of concept alignments, geometric layout, MOT, and ADA compliance projects.
- Oversee a team of Construction Managers & Inspectors on highway improvement projects with with PennDOT and Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC).
- Develop deliverables and provide quality control for all stages of project delivery, including preliminary layouts, final plans, reports, specifications, and estimates.
- Coordinate and work with other design teams and assess the activities and deliverables of the various subconsultants and disciplines associated with projects.
- Interact and coordinate with clients, team members, and subconsultants to successfully deliver projects.
- Serve as a leader to our transportation professionals to ensure they have the necessary support in resources, technology, and talent to deliver services with the highest quality.
- Develop and mentor the transportation engineering skillsets of junior and entry level design engineers.
- Lead, direct, and participate in marketing for prospective opportunities. Identify potential clients and potential projects/opportunities. Participate in firm meet-and-greets and interviews.
- Assist in preparation of SOI’s, Technical and Price Proposals, response to RFP’s, advertisements and solicitations.
- Participate in professional organizations such as ACEC, ASCE, AASHTO and the regional AASHTO affiliates.
Minimum Requirements:
- BSCE (required), MSCE (a plus).
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration is required.
- 20+ years' progressive experience in a combination of transportation design and project management responsibilities.
- Preliminary and Final design experience with PennDOT and Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC) projects, specifications, and guidelines required.
- Familiarity with Bentley MicroStation/InRoads, OpenRoads Designer and/or OpenBridge Designer CAD developed plans.
- Demonstrated experience with PennDOT, PTC, LRFD and AASHTO Policy's and Guidelines.
- Excellent communication, presentation and organizational skills required.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver challenging projects.
- Ability to work on simultaneous task assignments.
