Maintenance Assistant - Refuse
Job Description:Builds, maintains, repairs and places trash/recycling receptacles around campus.
Performs basic preventive maintenance, cleaning, and repair tasks associated with Recycling and Solid Waste Department assets.
Drives state vehicle to remove pallets from locations across campus and drives a forklift to load pallets on a truck. Maintains collection quantities and reports to the Operations Manager.
Assists in the removal of recyclables, solid waste, and other debris, from campus as needed.
May occasionally work events to provide trash/recycling collection assistance during normal business hours and non-business hours during critical periods such as on-campus Housing move-in/move-out, home football games, graduation, etc.
A criminal background and post offer health assessment will be conducted.
Work hours: Monday-Friday 7:00 am – 3:30 pm.
This position requires a Valid Class E Driver’s License, will be required to pass a forklift driving test.
Expected Salary:Expected starting salary $15.50 hourly based on experience.
Minimum Requirements:Completion of ninth grade and one year of relevant experience. Appropriate vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
Preferred Qualifications:Ability to work outdoors.
Ability to operate a forklift.
