Software Engineering, Associate- Blacksburg, VA

Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking Software Engineering, Associates to join our Software Delivery team in Blacksburg, VA.

 

Join our Technology and Engineering Software Delivery Center and support exciting projects across Peraton in areas such as communications, space, cybersecurity, defense, health, and mobile.  You’ll have the opportunity to work in a collaborative, supportive environment that allows you to grow your skills and your career while building experience in a variety of different projects and domains. 

You’ll work in an Agile software development environment supporting requirements/story development, software architecture and design, software development, and unit/component testing.  The initial project assignment for this position will be full-stack design and development of management, monitor, and control software to support ground stations critical to the near-Earth space communications network.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field.
• 0-2 years of experience working as a software engineer.
• Experience programming in Java and/or Python and a solid foundation in object-oriented development.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to quickly adapt and learn new technologies and concepts.
• Self-motivated, independent, detail oriented, responsible team-player.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

 Desired Qualifications:

• Prior work or educational experience working in an Agile software development environment.
• Experience working with Java, MongoDB, RabbitMQ.
• Experience working with web-based technologies including React.js, AngularJS, Node.js, RESTFul services.
• Experience with integrated development environment and configuration/build management tools and processes.
• Experience with deploying software into cloud environments, particularly Amazon Web Services, using technologies such as Ansible, Docker, and Rancher.

Target Salary Range

$51,000 - $82,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
