The eLearning Specialist designs and delivers innovative, high-impact digital learning solutions that drive business performance and support the evolving needs of today’s workforce. This role combines instructional design expertise, digital content development, and data-driven decision-making to create engaging, accessible, and inclusive learning experiences.
In close partnership with subject matter experts (SMEs), stakeholders, and business leaders, the eLearning Specialist assesses learning needs and aligns solutions with organizational priorities. By leveraging modern design practices and emerging technologies, (including AI and learning analytics) this role ensures learning solutions are effective, scalable and efficient. The eLearning Specialist applies best practices in adult learning theory, user experience design, and digital innovation to continuously enhance the learner experience and deliver measurable impact.
Work Arrangement: This position is able to work onsite or hybrid at our Headquarters in East Lansing, MI.
Schedule/Hours: Monday - Friday 8:30am-5:00pm ET.
An offer of employment with MSU Federal Credit Union and affiliates is contingent upon the agreed work arrangement (onsite/hybrid/remote) and work location. Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary:
- Level I: $56,000-68,000+, dependent on experience
- Level II: $61,000-76,000+, dependent on experience
- Senior Level: $77,000-95,000+, dependent on experience

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
eLearning Specialist I -
- Design and develop modern, interactive eLearning modules, simulations, and multimedia assets using provided inputs, ensuring alignment with defined learning objectives, business needs, and compliance requirements.
- Utilize authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Rise/Storyline, Camtasia) to create engaging digital learning experiences, including the conversion of instructor-led training (ILT) into effective online formats.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) and participate in team reviews, design sprints, and content update cycles to ensure accuracy and relevance.
- Support the measurement of learning effectiveness by leveraging assessments, learner feedback, and LMS data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
- Apply foundational instructional design techniques, including knowledge checks, summaries, and job aids, to reinforce learning and support retention.
- Incorporate required compliance content into learning solutions and ensure all materials meet accessibility standards and adhere to internal branding guidelines.
- Stay current with eLearning and instructional design trends, recommending innovative solutions to strengthen the organization’s digital learning strategy.
- Applies working knowledge of AI tools to enhance learning design and development, supporting efficiency and basic personalization.
- Maintain and update existing eLearning content to reflect changes in policies, systems, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Test and validate learning modules across devices, browsers, and Learning Management System (LMS) environments to ensure functionality and user experience.
- Upload, configure, and manage course content within the LMS, troubleshooting and resolving technical issues as needed.
- Contribute to organizational-wide training initiatives by supporting the development of scalable digital learning solutions across business functions.
- Understand the Credit Union's policies and procedures to ensure compliance and accountability for managing operational risks. Adhere to established internal controls and procedures to safeguard assets, prevent fraud, and maintain the integrity of credit union operations.
