Description/purpose of the Position: Recruit members for the German Choir, rehearse with them weekly, select repertoire, direct at least one performance in the fall and one in the spring.

Transferable Skills: Ability to organize and motivate a group of volunteers; ability to select music appropriate to the membership and the occasion.

Duties and Responsibilities: Recruit members for the German Choir and rehearse the choir weekly (1 hour). Select repertoire for rehearsal and performances. Fall semester culminates in the German Advent Service the first week of December. Spring semester, the choir may perform at an end-of-year German Department celebration, at a Chapel service, or at a local church, for instance.

Qualifications (Education/Experience/Skills): St. Olaf student or staff member; major, concentration or experience in choral conducting; preferred intermediate-level knowledge of German with excellent pronunciation for singing; ability to organize and motivate a group of mixed-level singers

Wage Range: $11.75-12.75
