We are seeking candidates for the position of Senior Director of Station Operations (7324) in the B&B/Bridges & Buildings.

Salary Range: Min: $116,818.00 - Mid: $146,016.00 - Max: $175,214.00 

       

OVERALL DESCRIPTION

Plans, directs, and coordinates maintenance and cleaning activities for the Station Department on the Orange and Blue Lines to achieve optimum use of facilities, equipment, and manpower in providing safe, clean, and welcoming customer experience.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Uses knowledge of Subway/Elevated, to develop goals, rules, schedules, and programs designed to improve the safety, quality, cleanliness, productivity, and efficiency of Station Operations.

2. Directs and oversees all labor relations and human resource related activities for Stations Operations including grievances, arbitrations, new hires, terminations, and payroll.

3. Develops staffing schedules of all Maintenance Custodians (MCs) and Station Management, including manpower projections, training, payroll, and employee communications.

4. Oversees all safety related initiatives including Safety Day, employee safety preparedness, Transit Worker Track Safety Training, Station Blitz with the System Safety Department.

5. Promotes and enforces safe working conditions in accordance with acceptable safety practices and procedures.

6. Directs activities related to third party contracts, scheduling, payroll, and B&B as they relate to Stations.

7. Makes recommendations to senior management for the purchase of materials and equipment required for the department to function efficiently and effectively as possible.

8. Develops, implements, and enforces standards for the cleanliness and general maintenance of stations and platforms.

9. Develops Station Key Performance Indicator (KPIs), monitors progress, makes corrective action plans as needed to improve performance.

10. Audits all programs, Manager inspections, employee safety qualifications, and payroll.

11. Organizes and administers a program of general cleaning maintenance to be conducted system wide. Perform weekly Station inspections.

12. Organizes and administers a program of inspections and response for handling customer complaints related to station conditions and information systems.

13. Develops and administers a quality control program to ensure the effectiveness of maintenance.

14. Develops and administers a system of training programs for new and existing employees.

15. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree and ten (10) years of relevant Stations/cleaning experience required which must include a minimum of five (5) years experience with supervision of staff.
  • An equivalent combination of advanced education (one year of formal education equating to two (2) years of experience) may be considered in lieu of the above overall requirements; however, candidate must have a minimum of five years supervisory/management or administrative experience.
  • Knowledge of Labor Agreements and work rules required.
  • Excellent computer skills. Must be proficient in MS office 365 software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Valid Driver’s License required.
  • Must become Roadway Worker certified within 1 month after hire.

IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Experience with mainframe CAPES, SHARE, and Control “D” functions or related systems preferred
  • QPE qualified preferred,
