Summary of the Position
The Principal Field Clinical Representative will be responsible for providing clinical support and troubleshooting for implantable devices, educating healthcare providers on device use, and offering on-site support during procedures. Additionally, the role involves building relationships with hospital personnel to promote product adoption and addressing customer service issues to ensure optimal outcomes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Clinical Support and Troubleshooting
- Role: Serve as a main resource for clinical expertise on implantable devices, ensuring proper coverage, troubleshooting issues, programming, and patient follow-up.
- Tasks: Support during device implants, identify and resolve issues, and conduct regular follow-ups to ensure successful patient outcomes.
2. Customer Education
- Role: Educate healthcare providers and hospital staff on device benefits and appropriate clinical use.
- Tasks: Conduct presentations, provide hands-on demonstrations, and leverage various platforms to train users effectively.
3. On-Site Support During Procedures
- Role: Attend implant procedures and offer support to medical staff.
- Tasks: Act as a technical advisor during surgeries and in the follow-up stages to enhance patient outcomes and improve customer satisfaction.
4. Relationship Development
- Role: Build and maintain positive relationships with hospital personnel, including key decision-makers, to promote product adoption.
- Tasks: Engage with staff through informal conversations, meetings, and presentations, and attend conferences to strengthen connections.
5. Customer Service and Complaint Resolution
- Role: Address and resolve product or service issues, either independently or through collaboration.
- Tasks: Provide creative solutions to customer complaints, collaborate with sales, marketing, and support teams, and work toward the best outcomes.
6. Inventory Management
- Role: Oversee and manage inventory according to company guidelines.
- Tasks: Ensure that inventory is appropriately managed in line with commercial standards and divisional policies.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
- Other duties as assigned.
This position is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in clinical practice, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure in a clinical setting, such as operating rooms.
Education and Required Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Science, Math, Business, Nursing, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent technical work experience may be considered in place of a formal degree.
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical work experience in Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) or a closely related clinical field, OR 6 years of cardiac-related clinical work experience.
- Preferred Certifications:
- IBHRE certification (International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners) or NASPE certification (National Society for Pacing and Electrophysiology) is preferred but not required. Candidates with certification may be considered with at least 4 years of relevant experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- High level of travel required throughout the United States
- Ability to work as a team member and ability to be very flexible, adaptable, and to work under pressure.
- Self-motivated and self-directed; conscientious approach to work assignments; enjoys the challenges of multitasking and working at a fast pace while staying flexible to shift tasks frequently.
- Must be available and willing to work flexible schedules, as needed.
- Ability to clearly write engineering justifications and analyses connecting product performance with compliance requirements.
- Ability to sit or stand for up to 8 hours per day.
- Ability to work on a computer for up to 8 hours per day.
- Manual dexterity / fine motor skills, if working with precision equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
- Ability to distinguish colors if needed to perform the job.
