Job Description
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Reviews student assessments to analyze the integrity of student submissions and collaborates with the Student Conduct Office in the adjudication process.
- Partners with team members to conduct investigations, assess situations and make an accurate determination based on established rubrics, processes, and procedures.
- Proctors student assessments, which includes scheduling, launching, securing, and monitoring students’ behavior during assessments.
- Participates in academic integrity education and training for faculty, staff and students to ensure they understand academic integrity policies and practices.
- Collaborates with colleagues to ensure consistent, valid, and reliable determinations across multiple raters.
- Maintains confidential case records and ensures proper documentation of investigations and resolutions.
- Responds to inquiries from students, faculty, and staff regarding academic integrity policies and procedures.
- Provides general guidance on academic integrity processes and policies
- Assists with scheduling meetings and hearings related to academic misconduct cases.
- May assist with implementing processes and safeguards to protect the integrity of programs and assessments.
- May assist with identifying and analyzing compromised university content disclosed on the internet and assist in its removal.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skill and Abilities:
- Familiarity with plagiarism detection software, learning management systems (LMS), and online proctoring tools.
- Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Commitment to handling sensitive information with discretion and integrity.
- Ability to use technology and adapt quickly to new processes.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
Job Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree in a related field of study
Two (2) years of experience in academic administration, student conduct, higher education policies, and academic integrity practices, or a related field.
Employees who may not meet the minimum qualification will be grandfathered into this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with objective assessment and academic authenticity policies
Work experience conducting investigations, resolving academic misconduct cases, and developing institutional policies
Work experience with competency-based education in an online environment
Experience in lieu of education:
Equivalent relevant experience performing the essential functions of this job may substitute for education degree requirements. Generally, equivalent relevant experience is defined as 1 year of experience for 1 year of education and is the discretion of the hiring manager.
