About the role

What to expect: 

 

The EWR Hub Senior Safety Supervisor will promote all components of UGE’s Safety Management system (SMS) including promoting safety policy and safety assurance as well as acting as an ambassador for a positive UGE safety culture.  The EWR Hub Sr Safety Supervisor will regularly review and analyze safety and compliance data for trends, work with applicable Subject Matter Experts (SME) to perform root cause analysis, and when necessary, elevate to leadership for review and action, and will work closely with other members of the safety team to draft and share safety communications. 

 

How you will make an impact:  

  • Monitor UGE compliance in all areas including but not limited to, Safety, Security, OSHA, Regulatory, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) as outlined in all Safety manuals (RSM, RGOM, GSM, etc.) 
  • Complete UGE Comprehensive Internal Audits in the areas of Safety, OSHA/Facilities, Regulatory, Security Searches, aircraft cleaning (MST, Turn, RON, Redeyes, Deep), Lavatory Service and Potable Water Service. Supporting with corrective action plans when needed. 
  • Support Incident/Accident review meetings as well as supporting the General Manager with required supporting documents, actions and or plans (i.e. ARB, SRA, CAPA’s, investigations, ERS submissions, drug screens, etc.) Follow up and follow through with all actions until closed. 
  • Assist with conducting safety risk assessments for new/modified processes, equipment, policies, hazards identified, etc. 
  • Work with the United Quality Control team and ensure all UGE corrective action plans are submitted and implemented timely. 
  • Assist stations with development and upkeep of Location Safety and Emergency response plans. 
  • Participate in and contribute to monthly Safety Round Table discussions and collaborative meetings with business partners or internal UGE departments. 
  • Participate/provide data for local monthly station safety meetings either virtually or in person. 
  • Plan and participate in UGE Safety Promotion initiatives. 
  • Support safety related discussions in partnership with the Hub Regional Manager and UGE Operational Leaders. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

 

What you will bring:  

Required Experience, Qualifications & Skills:  

  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience required 
  • Must be 18 years of age or older 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Strong problem solving, organizational and planning skills  
  • Ability to work independently in a dynamic, fast paced operation  
  • Ability to develop and foster positive, professional relationships with customers and co-workers 
  • Strong integrity and accountability 
  • Must be detail oriented and able to utilize various computer-based systems to
