About the role
Overview
Operates Community-owned vehicles to provide authorized transportation for residents and partners. This position exists in order to enhance the lives and nurture the growth of older persons by providing high quality service in a cheerful, timely manner and by communicating, coordinating, and cooperating with others to attain goals. This is a PRN (work as needed) position, and the days and hours will vary. It is a great job for retirees and those looking for some extra spending money! Currently looking for someone to drive for evening/night and weekend trips.Responsibilities
- Operates small and medium size cars, 14 passenger non-CDL shuttle bus, or our wheelchair accessible van to transport passengers to planned outings or medical visits
- Inspects, services and cleans vehicles
- Interacts positively with residents, family members, visitors, and other partners under a variety of conditions and circumstances
- Pumps gasoline and diesel fuel, checks oil, water and other fluid levels, provides routine under the hood service inspections
Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
- Licensure/Certification: Valid Ohio Driver’s License. Must have a driving record that would be insurable under Otterbein's liability insurance.

Experience: Prefer related driving experience. Experience in a healthcare setting is a plus.

Skills: Ability to do pre-trip inspection of vehicle; ability to communicate courteously and effectively with residents and other partners required; ability to find locations using standard and/or electronic road maps as well as written and verbal directions
