As a Senior Manager Project Manager at Capital One, you will drive strategy and execute on high priority projects for the company. The Senior Project Manager in this role will be embedded with our Connected Finances team to spearhead a large cross-functional project that will drive new technical and operational capabilities that are critical for the enterprise to deliver on-time. This body of work has significant customer, business, and compliance impacts in the area of Open Banking, where we help customers safely share their data to drive better financial outcomes through Capital One’s financial services or to power third party experiences like Venmo or Acorns.

The ideal candidate will be skilled in technical delivery and dependency tracking, organizing and facilitating large groups, taking a proactive approach in identifying what is needed to be successful and collaborating to meet those needs. We will have a large cadre of associates working across the company to realize our objectives and it will be important to develop strong relationships with them in order to come together as a team.

This Project Manager role will be interfacing across all lines of business and stakeholders from a variety of job families and roles, including high-level executives. Compelling storytelling and presentation delivery skills will ensure that these stakeholders remain not only informed, but engaged in the meaningful work being delivered. During the course of this multi-year program they will become a subject matter expert and a valuable resource for helping others within the organization understand the breadth and impact of the deliverables.

General Responsibilities:

• Leading moderate to large complex projects and programs by providing strategic direction to projects, peers, and direct reports.
• Designing, developing, and managing project plans in a complex dynamic environment, revising needs to meet changing requirements
• Ensuring projects are being documented appropriately to mitigate risk and to be delivered on time.
• Leveraging problem solving and influencing skills to ensure project plans deliver on intent
• Partnering cross-functionally with project customers to provide strategic and tactical thought partnership to effectively drive project delivery
• Building relationships and collaborating with key stakeholders to ensure delivery of commitments
• Leading a team of project managers Exhibit outstanding influencing skills to effectively drive project / program efforts
• Demonstrate a proven track record of excellent project management, bringing the ability to quickly put structure in place to manage work in a dynamic complex environment.
• Display a passion for coaching and developing a team of associates through their leadership style
• Have excellent communication and partnership skills which are essential for interacting and communicating with key stakeholders at all levels across the company to manage, inform and influence outcomes
• Create executive level reporting for governance forums (S3/S4/EDC etc)

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Military experience
• At least 8 Years of Project Management experience
   

Preferred Qualifications:

• Masters / MBA degree
• At least 10 years of Project Management experience
• At least 3 years of People Management experience
• PMP, Lean, Agile or Six Sigma certification
• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills
• Excellent problem solving and influencing skills
