1st shift Machine Operator

Description

Position Overview

The Machine Operator safely and efficiently operates the necessary machinery in the designated area. This includes data recording, weight tracking and the safe operation of assigned machinery, such as maintenance checks, recording down time and other production levels as assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Operate and perform physical duties that are associated with assigned equipment
2. Record and maintain accurate record of production levels as assigned
3. Assist Maintenance with maintaining equipment when necessary
4. Maintain a clean and organized working environment
5. Perform daily preventative maintenance on mobile equipment, as required
6. Follow dress code and ensure proper PPE is worn at all times 

Requirements

Job Requirements/Skills

1. Knowledge of Non-Ferrous and Ferrous metals
2. Ability to organize, plan and prioritize work efficiently
3. Computer experience preferred
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
5. Problem solving skills

Education/Experience

1. High school diploma or GED preferred

Physical Requirements

1. Walk, sit, stand, stoop for long periods of time
2. Ability to operate two-handed controls
3. Ability to walk up and down flights of stairs multiple times per day
4. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis
5. Exposure to physical operations in scrap recycling facilities, including walking/climbing in active industrial yards with uneven surfaces in inclement weather
