Software Engineer, Mobile

Green Mountain Power is seeking an experienced React Native Software Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will collaborate with other engineers, designers, and product leads to develop, test, and deploy changes to our customer-facing mobile application. You will also help build innovative applications that empower our customers and transform how we deliver clean, reliable energy.

Required Skills & Experience

3+ years of experience as a professional software engineer with a strong track record of delivering high quality code in a team setting.

Essential skills for this role include:

• Proficiency in designing, developing, and implementing features for mobile applications using React Native.
• Experience in building user interfaces (UI) and user experiences (UX) specifically for mobile applications.
• Experience with Redux for state management, including the use of redux-thunk or other middleware for handling asynchronous actions.
• Agile scrum team experience and being an excellent team player.
• Experience integrating RESTful APIs.
• Experience deploying applications to both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
• Proficiency with Git.
• Growth mindset, and a passion for learning and self-improvement.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to writing secure, clean, maintainable code.
• Ability to adapt to new technologies and frameworks quickly.

Additional Helpful Skills and Abilities

• Experience integrating push notification services like Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM).
• Implementation of secure authentication methods like Face ID or Touch ID.
• Utilization of Firebase for monitoring, analytics, or other features.
• Familiarity with unit testing frameworks for mobile development (e.g., Jest).
• Knowledge of build and automation tools.
