The Advanced Process Technology (APT) team is laser focused on the intersection between; (1) Product Design, (2) Process Development, and (3) Equipment Design & Operation. Our current charter is dedicated towards MidSize PowerTrain deliverables within the HV Team (e.g.- Battery Modules, CCA Design and Laser Welding) and the creation of a "center of excellence" for Lucid through the buildout of a Laser Lab to drive ideation and DFM.
We are currently seeking an intern to work on our team. Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches their work with vigor and determination. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate excellence in their respective fields, to possess the ability to learn quickly and to strive for perfection within a fast-paced environment.
Role/Responsibilities:
- Mechanical Design (Catia)
- Process Development (Laser Cutting, Laser Welding, Wire Bonding)
- Equipment Specification & Operation
- Metrology and Test
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with CATIA V6 or other CAD tool
- Have Lab Experience
- Hands-on mechanical fabrication and prototyping
- Mechanical aptitude (BSME preferred)
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Passion for automotive innovation and hands-on engineering
- Outstanding technical problem-solving abilities based on engineering fundamentals
- Demonstrate knowledge of mechanical design, fabrication, and manufacturing
- Basic experience using hand tools
Nice to Have:
- CNC Machine Operation (G-Code)
- Laser Process Experience (Welding, Marking, Cutting)
- Structural Testing (Instron, Mark-10)
- Keyence Equipment (VHX, VK)
Education:
- Field(s) of study: Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related field
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree program at an accredited university
- Proof of enrollment in current program (BS)
Program Information:
- Timing: May- August, or June-September pending class schedules.
- Duration of Internship: Our internship program is 12 weeks; the end date is flexible based on individual needs.
- Work Location & Environment: This position will be in Newark, CA, and is fully in-person. You must be prepared to start onsite for your first day of employment. The working environment will be a mix of lab & office work.
- Compensation: Student compensation is based on location and current degree level, non-negotiable ranging from $35 to $43 (subject to changes).
- Relocation: May be provided on a case to case basis.
- Housing/Transportation: You must provide your own living arrangements and transportation in the local area.
