Job Description
Paul D. Camp Community College is a small 2-year college in Southeast Virginia. Campuses are located in Franklin and Suffolk. There also is a center in Smithfield. The college offers associate degrees, certificates, and career studies certificates In transfer and career/technical programs; credit and non-credit workforce services and training for businesses and industries; special interest classes for the community; and summer classes for youth through the Regional Workforce Development Center. A dual enrolment program for high school students, online courses, and developmental studies classes are available at the college as well.
This position is restricted. The funding through the rural health transformation grants and is funding positions to expand the instruction of nursing students in the practical and associate degree programs.
Paul D Camp Community College is in search of part-time Nursing instructors interested in supporting the college’s mission, which is to provide diverse learning opportunities to enhance the quality of life for students and the community. Working with ADN nursing students in the clinical and lab setting, while meeting specific learning needs, dependent upon the students’ educational semester. The clinical instructor/lab/didactic will be responsible for all modules and orientation related to the assigned facility. The instructor must provide positive, professional representation of the college at all times, while maintaining a supportive role for the students. The position is to develop and support the nursing programs with a focus on the part-time, evening and weekend program.

May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
KSA's/Required Qualifications- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in Virginia
- BSN required for lab and clinical adjuncts
- MSN required for those who are didactic instructors.
- A minimum of two years full time working experience in the field.
- Ability to work well with nursing faculty and students to facilitate learning.
- Experience with clinical simulation use in nursing education or willingness to learn.
- Current CPR (BLS for healthcare providers) and documentation of all routine healthcare employee immunizations.
- Flexible schedule: ability to travel to both campuses and various hospitals.
- Official transcripts will be required prior to final offer
- Recent post RN licensure specialty clinical experience.
- MSN or progress towards an MSN (Required for didactic instruction)
- Specialty certification
- Recent acute care experience.
- Teaching and/or preceptorship experience
- Familiarity with a Concept Based Curriculum
Travel to both campuses and various hospitals
