Who are we looking for?

The position of the Technical Service Representative is a demanding job in which the person is responsible for the installation and servicing of photopolymer plate making and related equipment at various MacDermid customer facilities. The position requires a proactive self-starter that is able to work closely and independently with customers, technical service and sales personnel to ensure the customer and MPS interests are served while helping to promote MacDermid’s exclusive line of products.

What will you be doing?

• Strong electrical / mechanical aptitude on automated equipment.
• Ability to read and work from electrical schematics.
• Hands-on person with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues quickly.
• Able to follow through on equipment installations, from preinstallation to final training.
• A good working knowledge of PLC’s and ladder logic.
• Ability to provide assistance to customers both in person and by phone dealing with technical and operational issues.
• Experience with Flexographic platemaking systems and plates. (highly desired but not mandatory)
• Computer literate on Word, Excel and Auto Cad.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Physically able to handle 50 pounds.
• Extensive travel to customer or manufacturing sites required 80 - 90%.
• Person must be able to travel internationally with a passport.

What competencies will you need?

• Establish rapport with customers and become a trusted resource
• Perform practical demonstrations of products at customer premises
• Will act as part of a team of 3-4 reps to assist on sales calls, train, and interact with customers and vendors
• Support lab techs and quality managers on a day-to-day basis
• Follows through on services rendered to customers in the field
• Provides assistance to customers both in person and by phone, dealing with technical and operational issues
• Extensive travel to customer or manufacturing sites required 50% or more (approximately 20+hrs on the road, on average 2/3 nights away) possibly some weekend – travel to be based on customer needs
• Person must be able to travel internationally with a passport
