The Physician & APP Recruiter supports the operational goals of the system by proactively sourcing, identifying, qualifying and recruiting physicians and physician executives (i.e. director level positions and higher) who meet the community and operational needs of Inova Health System and affiliated Medical Groups. Works with leadership in the development of recruitment programs, budgets and strategies. Educates and updates leadership, physicians, hiring authorities and hospital staff on the recruitment process to ensure all recruitment efforts align with all system, legal and compliance standards is of vital importance.
Job Responsibilities
- Provides "white glove" service by ensuring candidates have an engaging experience with Inova Health System and a positive outlook on the area
- Coordinates and administers recruiting processes that include, but are not limited to, initial contact, coordination of site visits and interviews of qualified candidates with appropriate physicians, senior management and hospital staff
- Conducts pre-screening and preliminary interviews of candidates to evaluate candidates' viability for hiring authorities and coordinates and facilitates on-site interviews (e.g. escorting and transporting candidates between meetings and facilities)
- Coordinates with operating unit Human Resources department team members to ensure completion of all pre-employment paperwork for employed physicians
- Communicates with physicians prior to, during and after interviews to bring process to a conclusion of offer made and accepted, offer made and not accepted or no offer made
- Tracks candidates to ensure coordination of all facets of the recruiting process are met in a timely manner
- Works with leadership in the development of recruitment programs, budgets and strategies
- Evaluates trends in physician recruitment and educates system leadership regarding these trends and their impact on future strategies
- Works with Marketing personnel and hiring authorities to develop advertising, direct mail and internet campaigns for recruitment based on specialty needed
- Develops and maintains contacts with area schools of medicine and other public organizations to find and attract physicians
- Attends job fairs, CME events, physician gatherings, specialty specific conferences and regional conferences for the purpose of physician recruitment and makes public presentations at area schools of medicine, residencies, organizations and job fairs regarding organization and physician practice opportunities
- Evaluates compatibility between potential physician candidates and current medical staff for hospitals within Inova
- Assists with scheduling itineraries, escorting physicians through the interview process, giving tours of the hospitals and outpatient practices in addition to participating in after-hours functions such as dinners with candidates and physician leaders and area tours
- Confers with members of medical staff, including key management, physician and staff, to evaluate current and future recruitment needs
- May perform additional duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
- Experience - 2 years of experience in Recruitment
- Education - Bachelor's degree in related field (or relevant experience in lieu of degree equivalent to 4 years)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in provider/physician/APP recruitment high preferred
- Experience in high volume recruitment
*This is a hybrid role with expectations of being on-site (Northern VA) multiple times per week
