Background & Purpose of the Job
This Brand Manager – Innovation for the Condiments US business unit is responsible for co-developing world class and industry leading innovation platforms, developing Core Superiority product, proposition and technology roadmaps, along with managing Gross Margin improvement activity systems for Hellmann’s/BestFoods, Sir Kensington and Maille brands, reporting directly to the Head of Condiments US.
Hellmann’s/BestFoods is an iconic brand in the US and represents around 35% of the global Condiments turnover for Unilever. This role is big, highly strategic, visible and important to the delivery of results in the US. We need someone who is passionate, driven and an absolute Foodie.
This job presents plenty of scope for independent brand work and team stewardship, cross-functional leadership plus lots of creativity. The ideal candidate would be visionary, knowledgeable about food, passionate about product superiority and chefmanship, consumer centric, and who can also manage multiple priorities, with both a strong marketing and analytical mindset. If you thrive on leading, creating and delivering big strategic innovations and technology breakthroughs, this will be a very rewarding experience. The role is supported by one direct report.
In this role you will lead the development of the innovation funnel, the GM roadmap, brand superiority activity system and Brand Power toolkit to support the brand in winning both competitive Market Share and Brand Power metrics. This will require developing key internal and external relationships, to break and develop new ways of working and thinking to propel this business towards its 4% YOY growth ambition and building enhanced brand superiority for long-term value.
Who You Are & What You’ll Do
- Co-Lead the Innovation and Renovation for Hellmann’s, Bestfoods, Sir Kensington and Maille for US Foods
- Drive Product superiority roadmap for the US business, contributing to accretive Unmissable Brand Superiority and winning competitive share
- Develop GM roadmap and activity system to support the GM ambition of the business
- Co-Lead resource allocation and project prioritization with Flavor Innovation Manager.
- Champion Hellmann’s brand purpose in both “say and do” with internal and external experts.
What You’ll Need To Succeed
- BA (MBA a plus) with 7+ years’ experience in Brand Marketing or Creative/Digital/PR Agency
- Passion for food and innovation. Competitive drive and hustle, rooted in food culture.
- Consumer centric thinker, passionate about consumer trends, insights and product quality.
- Creative problem solving
