Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.The Content Project Manager role will play a key role in Northrop Grumman’s Enterprise Editorial Board (Ed Board), ensuring the successful day-to-day execution of the Ed Board’s planning cycles. This role will be responsible for coordinating multimedia story production and timelines across multiple programs, as well as maintaining coordination among several internal and external creative agencies, and may additionally have the opportunity to support story development (depending on interest and bandwidth). This position reports to Northrop Grumman’s Managing Editor, Brand Experience.
This position is based in one of the following locations: Falls Church, VA, San Diego, CA or Redondo Beach, CA. This is not a remote position. Teleworking arrangements are subject to change based on the needs of the business.
Role Description:
Manage the day-to-day execution of the final stories from the Ed Board’s biannual cycles. As the stories are produced, ensure they all align with the respective content calendar, which includes direction on the different pieces of content (such as articles and social posts) that need to be developed, assets that need to be captured or edited (such as videos or photos), timeframes of when the stories should publish and channels the content should be distributed from. Content includes but is not limited to Northrop Grumman’s external, branded editorial, internal employee magazine, social media, internal and external newsletters, CEO/leader communications, and paid content opportunities.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Be an engaged member of the Ed Board working group, and actively participate in developing the story, creative approach and strategic rationale for our content.
Work across our communications team to schedule and produce collaborative meetings and workspaces to support our content production process.
Work with content strategy team members to ensure written content is developed, reviewed and approved on time.
Partner with internal creative services and external creative agencies to ensure that any photos or videos are captured, reviewed and approved according to spec.
Conduct competitive and industry research to inform story development and content strategy.
Maintain and update the Ed Board story development/production tools, including pitch submissions and external review tracking.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree with 5 years of relevant experience OR Master's Degree with 3 years of relevant experience
Ability to work and communicate effectively cross-functionally and collaborate with a variety of stakeholders
Strong project management and organizational skills (PMP certification welcome but not required)
Storytelling interest and/or experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced understanding of creative production, trends, opportunities and best practices
Experience working in an advertising agency or within a large, matrixed organization
Proactive and able to work efficiently with tight schedules and competing priorities
Solution-driven team player
Creative and strategic thinker with an ability to translate complex ideas into simple and intuitive communications
Proficient in tools like Smartsheet and Pow
