This position will be located in Melbourne, FL.
The EHS Engineer will play a role in the execution of various elements of the site's environmental management system. The position will contribute to maintaining a certified environmental management system and the continuous improvement of our processes. This position requires the individual to work closely and positively interact with a variety of different disciplines in an engineering and manufacturing design setting.
This position will involve all environmental compliance matters including but not limited to: wastewater, storm water, air emissions, hazardous materials, and hazardous waste. Essential functions will include environmental reporting, assisting with pollution prevention activities, and compliance auditing. Additionally, it will involve assisting in the maintaining and updating of environmental procedures such as Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure Plans, Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans, Hazardous Materials Management plans and Hazardous Waste Contingency Plans.
Essential Functions include but not limited to:
Interprets, recommends, and complies with environmental and/or company policies.
Assists in planning for changes in physical facilities to meet environmental requirements.
Evaluates properly licensed hazardous disposal firms and monitors waste handling.
Reviews and updates environmental and spill-control procedures.
Prepares environmental impact statements and assists with new permits and renewals.
Contributes to the completion of milestones associated with environmental projects.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science Degree, Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM), in environmental science or related field
Minimum of 2 years of experience in an EHS position
Knowledge of EPA, FDEP, NESHAP, ISO14001, DOT regulations and standards
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret Security Clearance
Must have excellent communication and collaboration skills with all levels of an organization
Must have computer related skills for database management, internet/intranet use, and/or typical Microsoft Office related programs

Experience working in a manufacturing environment
