Job Description:

This position is responsible for performing a variety of duties in accordance with Parking & Transportation Services rules and regulations as it relates to registration privileges and permit issuances with the main focus on providing a professional customer service experience. 

30% Coordinates the garage lottery selection process for students working closely with the Assistant Director ensuring all selected students are updated in the University system. Processes tickets to determine what action is necessary and follow through with the appropriate action. Serves as the liaison for the two appeal boards (employee and student); updating customers records once there is a final decision. 

30% Coordinates, issues and maintains records for temporary, medical, contractor, and other related permits. Evaluates the assessment of fees on such permits to ensure compliance with the Parking Rules and Regulations. Works with all external groups assuring payments are received timely, and terminating access when past due. Researches and creates a University account for any outside entity.  Serves as the liaison with the Bursar's Office to resolve old accounts prior to the write off period.

25% Assists the front counter to the department assisting customers with a variety of Parking requests helping to resolve any discrepancies through various forms of communication.  Complies with cash handling policies as it relates to the responsibility of maintaining a departmental petty cash fund. Serves as back-up to assist other Registration staff during busy times with a focus on processing unregistered citations (28's) and employee payroll deduction report processing.

15% Requires constant contact with the public on a daily basis including LSU Administration and other internal or external groups such as contractors ensuring each person is treated in a professional manner. Assures compliance with student records as it relates to the Federal Privacy Act and LSU PS 30. Performs all other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director of Parking Services & Operations.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's 'degree

Licenses/Certifications

Minimum LA Class E or equivalent driver's license.

Special Qualifications

Due to the nature of the position and/or position responsibilities this position shall be subject to drug/alcohol testing in accordance with University Policy Statement 67. This position has access to/directly handles cash. Financial history/credit check required per FASOP HR-04.

Extensive overtime maybe required during registration (fall, spring, and/or summer) periods and throughout the year as needed
