We are seeking an innovative and talented Senior Systems Engineer to provide engineering support to a team responsible for maintaining and operating a high priority operational system at a high level of availability. The candidate must have the ability to be a technically minded problem-solver, be able to focus on the task at hand, follow through on the prescribed plan, and the ability to be flexible and think under pressure. The ideal candidate would be highly motivated and have a strong desire to learn and have a team player attitude. Other duties include providing inputs to CONOP development, RFCs, and future baselines/capabilities. Responsible for carrying pager (approx. one week every two months) and responding to anomalies. Location: Aurora, Colorado
What You Will Do
- Provide support to Mission Planning functions.
- Develop and maintain scripts/web tools.
- Conduct software analysis and troubleshooting
- Provide support to Integration and test.
- Identify process improvements and software enhancements.
- Coordinate with internal and external engineering teams.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 5 years of prior engineering experience or equivalent experience.
- Experience in structured programming, trouble shoot and update.
- Experience in project management.
- Experience in PowerPoint and presentations
- An active and transferable TS/SCI CI Poly U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for the required security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Software skills/Web development skills (PERL, JAVA, HTML/XML, C++, SQL, Wiki, JavaScript, MySQL, Linux.)
- Knowledge of the Mission Planning system.
- Software Development processes.
- Test experience.
- Understanding of baseline development and delivery process.
- Creative thinking and innovation involve generating new ideas and solutions to drive progress and enhance capabilities.
