We offer a hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.

Job Summary

There is one position available within Power Generation’s Regulatory Compliance team which will be filled at the level commensurate with the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience. 

The NERC Compliance Specialist or Senior NERC Compliance Specialist is responsible for assisting with and/or independently leading the coordination, administration, and support of Power Generation’s North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) compliance efforts. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the Company's comprehensive compliance programs, including implementation and maintenance of Dominion Energy’s internal Industrial Control System Cyber Security Standards (ICS CSS).

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

The knowledge, skills, abilities and experiences that are required for entry into this job include the following:

NERC Compliance Specialist: 2+ years of directly related experience

  • Assist with the development and administration of ongoing training programs to ensure successful implementation and advocacy of a NERC compliance culture within Dominion Energy.
  • Identify, assess, and prioritize NERC compliance risks based on the federal, national and regional requirements.
  • Recommend content and implementation strategies for Dominion Energy compliance program initiatives.
  • Act as source of best-practice information and keep abreast of trends and issues related to the design, implementation, communication, and administration of NERC compliance programs.
  • Provide honest, candid, and timely responses to appropriate Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and responsible management.
  • Assist with an ongoing internal self-audit process to ensure continuous audit readiness by the business area.
  • Assist with Dominion Energy's compliance audit preparations, schedules, and logistics within the business area upon notification of an official compliance audit from regulatory and reliability entities (FERC, NERC, REs). 
  • Other duties as assigned.

Senior NERC Compliance Specialist: 5+ years of directly related experience. 

  • Confer with management regularly and recommend specific actions on various NERC compliance matters. 
  • Develop and administer ongoing training programs to ensure successful implementation and advocacy of a NERC compliance culture within Dominion Energy
  • Lead identification, assessment and prioritization of NERC compliance risks based on federal, national, and regional requirements. 
  • Recommend content and implementation strategies for Dominion Energy compliance program initiatives. 
  • Act as source of best-practice information and keep abreast of trends and issues to design, implement, communicate, and administer NERC compliance programs. 
  • Provide honest, candid, and timely responses to appropriate Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and responsible management. 
  • Interface directly with regulatory and reliability agencies (i.e. FERC, NERC, REs, etc.) on issues pertaining to reliability standards and compliance enforcement. 
  • Partner with compliance attorneys and other Dominion Energy registered entities to minimize legal and regulatory compliance risks. 
  • Prepare and present periodic reports to executives. 
  • Coordinate, schedule and implement an ongoing internal self-audit process to ensure continuous audit readines
