About the role

SUMMARY:

As a Tech Lead Data Engineer, your main role will be to guide our data engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing advanced data pipelines, ensuring they align with our business goals. Your leadership will be key in managing the team, fostering innovation, and maintaining best practices in data processing within GCP.

We are looking for candidates who are as excited about pushing their own development as they are about advancing our technology stack.

Our core developers are passionate about software engineering and enjoy developing their skills and abilities in a friendly and supportive environment of keen learners.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING:

You will join our engineering team and be a valued member working closely in a collaborative, autonomous, cross-functional team. You will help with the following:

  • Lead and mentor a team of data engineers in the design, development, and maintenance of scalable data pipelines on GCP.
  • Collaborating with product management teams to understand their requirements.
  • Design and implement robust data pipelines and processing services on GCP.
  • Recommending upgrades as new GCP features are introduced.
  • Managing tracking specification changes based on product and feature needs.
  • Build services with a forward-thinking approach, focusing on common feature functionalities that can benefit the broader community.
  • Communicate your needs clearly and responsibly.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • Experience leading data engineering teams, with strong project management and mentoring skills.
  • Deep understanding of Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Experience with GCP services, including Dataflow, BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions, and Memorystore/redis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with Java, Python
  • Experience working in Agile development environments, particularly in a Scrum framework.
  • Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal
