Position Overview

Position Overview:

Effectively monitor all loads under dispatch authority to provide safe and on-time service to our customers, vendors and distribution centers.

Responsibilities:

Monitor all loads under dispatch authority for on-time service, communicating status updates to include time changes, appointments and updates to customers and vendors.

Prepare daily dispatch schedule for drivers and equipment.

Communicate professionally with Shaw drivers as well as internal and external customers.

Strictly follow Risk Management guidelines when handling accidents and incidents.

Communicate with dispatchers and supervisors to ensure effective flow of information between shifts.

Ability to think critically and utilize all resources to cover ever changing business conditions.

Share responsibilities with Transportation Supervisors to monitor drivers’ hours of service (HOS) to ensure compliance with FMCSA regulations.

Requirements:

Education – High School diploma or GED

Proficient in computer usage to include Microsoft Office and Google Sheets

Ability to accommodate flexible schedules to meet the needs of the customer including nights, weekends and holidays.

1+ years Transportation experience

Preferred:

Knowledge and understanding of Department of Transportation (DOT) Hours of Service, Logs, and Electronic Logging Devices

Knowledge of Transportation Management Systems (TMS)

Previous Dispatch experience

Schedule:

Friday-Sunday 6p-6a

$26.67 per hour

Weekend Premium

3 Day weekend, non-rotating, Hrs fall to in punch day, Act Calendar (f/s/su, s/su/m)
