The Boeing CompanyThe Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Vertical Lift Division has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Human Resources (HR) professional and people leader with an appetite to partner with the business, drive priorities/deliverables, and focus on engagement to make an impact throughout the business to join our team as the Philadelphia Site and Manufacturing Human Resources Senior Manager.
This position is responsible for providing strategic and employee facing support to 4,000 team members and managers in Ridley Park, PA as well as empowering a team of HR professionals who support Manufacturing, Quality, Materials Management, and Fabrication. Boeing Philadelphia is part of the BDS Vertical Lift Division, manufacturing the most advanced military rotorcraft in the world and is renowned for leading-edge solutions that deliver proven capabilities. With 60 years of expertise and a global fleet over 2,500 strong — comprising the AH-6 Little Bird, AH-64 Apache, V-22 Osprey and H-47 Chinook aircraft and in-development entrants, including the MH-139A Grey Wolf — Boeing advances missions ranging from precision attack and reconnaissance to medium and heavy lift operations.
As a key member of the Philly Site Leadership Team, this role will have the opportunity to partner and build trust with all facets of the business and within the HR function to lead the people strategies for employees and managers in the areas of performance, talent planning, workforce planning, diversity, organizational development, and change management. The successful candidate will lead, develop and motivate a team of Human Resources generalists and offer innovative solutions to meet business requirements. They will have great critical thinking skills, an innovative approach to solve problems, and a strong background in positive employee relations, labor relations and focus on engagement and culture.
Position Responsibilities:
Manage and develop employees deploying HR processes, policies and procedures and other activities to support, counsel and educate managers and employees on HR issues
Develop and execute integrated organizational plans, policies and procedures and guides the development of business and technical strategies, goals, objectives and process improvements
Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
Provide oversight and approval of HR products, processes, and delivery
Manage, develop and motivate employees and managers
Participate in business planning and decisions
Collaborate on site strategy as it relates to pay and recognition, rewards, accountability, job structure and classifications, and performance
Provide consultation on various Employee and Labor Relations policies and processes pertaining to positive employee engagement including but not limited to: basic labor law and principles, attendance, labor loss, time charging and corrective action
Understand the risk factors that impact employee engagement and ultimately the desired site culture
Provide solutions for improvement in areas such as communications, teammate movement, and talent
Provide training and guidance to leaders that helps connect employee engagement to business results – i.e. performance management improvement tactics; work movement
Collect and analyze trends and feedback to create plans to educate leaders on improving engagement and mitigating areas of opportunity from various sources of input and leading listening mechanisms
Assess teams and organizations for engagement opportunities and create strategies and plans for improvement as a result of leading the Site Human Resources Generalist (HRG) team focused on advocacy and partnering with other functional HRGs and Site managers
Understand all relevant labor laws, as well as HR policy and procedure that impact our teams and our site including representing the Philly Site on enterprise teams and change efforts
Build strong relationships with leaders, partners, teams and teammates to foster trust, engagement and inclusion
Assist the legal team in any detailed data collection, analysis, support or case resolution needed
Working Conditions:
This role requires a consistent presence on the manufacturing floor and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment within manufacturing operations
