For one of our clients based in Italy - an European Institution, we are looking for a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer with strong expertise in Python, Docker and Kubernetes to join our team in the domain of data science, digital health and food safety. You will play a crucial role in  enabling the digital transformation solutions to support prevention, preparedness and response to the health burdens and threats through innovative data science and digital transformation. The position is 100% remote and it can be done from any European Union member country. 

Responsibilities

• Back-end and content management services for client's projects: providing technical support for the implementation, development and integration of data visualizations (e.g. webtools widgets), and regular updates of the two projects' sub-sites;
• Develop the front-end, business logic and databases of our web applications;
• Back-end and front-end development for the project landing page;
• Changes to the structure of the Drupal website;
• Typescript and Javascript coding;
• Customization of Drupal EU login module (token access);
• Development of Research Data Repositories;
• Dashboard apps and integration;
• Creation and management of vector databases (Mylvus, Quadrant, etc…);
• Deploy of virtual containers (Dockers, OpenShift);
• Experience on Serving Machine Learning models (e.g. Triton server);
• Machine Learning frameworks like, e.g., Pytorch for inference;
• Implement RESTful APIs to be consumed by web-based user interfaces using FastApi;
• Work with Kubernetes architectures;
• Back-end and front-end development for the vAST – Virtual Assistant tool of the project: support on data management and new features development.;
• Integration of user-facing elements developed in the front-end with server side logic;
• Optimization of the applications for maximum speed and scalability;/
• Design and creation of scalable software and APIs.

Requirements

• University degree (BSc/MSc) 

• Minimum 10 years of work experience in the IT field 

• 5 years of experience with Python and Shell scripting

• 2 years of experience with Vector databases 

• 4 years experience with SQL and NoSQL databases 

• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes and FastAPI 

• Any experience/knowledge of Drupal and front-end technologies are desirable.
