Maintenance Technician - (SAT/Austin Region)

Position Overview

Fitness Connection is seeking a Tier 2-level Maintenance Technician to independently manage and execute repairs across 3 clubs in San Antonio and 2 clubs in Austin. This role covers a wide range of facility systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical — with a specific need for someone who understands the movement and repair of belt-driven machines or similar mechanical equipment.

While we will provide some training on gym-specific equipment, you must already have foundational knowledge of working with moving parts, belts, motors, and basic mechanical systems. You must be able to prioritize repairs, plan your travel schedule across locations, and handle service tickets without direct supervision.

Requirements

• Must live in or near San Antonio or Austin (or nearby surrounding areas)

• Must be able to start by July 2025

• 5+ years of commercial property maintenance experience required

• Strong skills in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical troubleshooting

• Familiarity with repairing machines with moving parts, belts, and motor-driven components

• Able to plan routes and prioritize repairs across multiple locations

• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently

• Clean driving record required

• Must be comfortable using a digital ticketing system and managing vendor relationships

• Must be reliable and available for emergency on-call needs when required

• Must not have been out of the workforce for more than 3 consecutive months

This is Not a Fit If You:

• Only have experience in apartment make-ready or residential handyman roles

• Are a freelancer, gig worker, or home handyman

• Have worked primarily as a helper, apprentice, or assistant

• Are not comfortable being fully self-managed across five sites

• Require training on the basics of HVAC, plumbing, or electrical systems
