Summary

We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to lead the Agile development process and drive the execution of a next-generation Point-of-Sale (POS) solution on the PAX E700 platform. This role is responsible for guiding cross-functional teams—including engineering, QA, DevOps, and product to ensure the on-time delivery of a robust, user-friendly POS platform. The ideal candidate will manage project deliverables, remove blockers, and steer the technical execution of a complex system with rich offline and online capabilities, integrated payments, and custom retail features.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Project Leadership & Agile Facilitation:
  • Lead a cross-functional team of frontend engineers, mobile developers, and integration specialists to deliver critical features and technical components.
  • Facilitate all Agile ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
  • Guide the team on Agile principles, focusing on continuous improvement, transparency, and maturity.
  • Define and track key performance indicators such as velocity and burn-down charts to monitor progress.
• Execution & Delivery Management:
  • Serve as the point of contact for removing blockers and enabling fast decision-making for the team.
  • Translate product feature sets into detailed technical designs and implementation plans.
  • Manage sprint deliverables, estimates, and technical roadmaps to ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Manage and escalate risks related to complex POS features like Store-and-Forward, eWallet offline, and peripheral diagnostics.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration & Communication:
  • Foster collaboration between product owners, developers, QA engineers, DevOps, and business stakeholders.
  • Coordinate across multiple development streams, including device-level integrations (PAX E700), mobile (React Native/Android), the web portal, and backend APIs.
  • Collaborate with backend teams to define and optimize API contracts for secure, optimized data exchanges.
  • Partner with DevOps for CI/CD pipeline setup, device provisioning flows, and release coordination.

Qualifications

Must-Have:

• 10+ years of experience in software development or a related field, with 3+ years in a technical leadership or project management role.
• Proven experience leading Agile teams in building enterprise-grade software, preferably POS systems, retail technology, or fintech platforms.
• Deep understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, SAFe, or Kanban).
• Strong proficiency and background in mobile development, including React Native, TypeScript, and native Android (Java/Kotlin).
• Experience working with cross-platform teams: mobile (React Native, Android), web, backend, and hardware integrations.
• Solid understanding of mobile architecture patterns, secure data handling, and offline-first design.
• Experience working with hardware APIs and Android-based embedded devices.
• Proficiency in Agile project management tools such as Jira and Confluence.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of PCI-DSS standards, security best practices, and mobile performance optimization.
• Strong conflict resolution, facilitation, and coaching skills.

Nice-to-Have:

• Experience with PAX E-series devices or other embedded POS terminals.
• Background in payments technology, including eWallets, softPOS, and NFC.
• Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), SAFe Scrum Master (SSM), or PMI-ACP certification.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions or Bitrise.
• Prior involvement in softPOS, NFC-based payments, and secure PIN capture.
• Familiarity with PCI compliance and secure transaction processing.

Compensation, Benefits and Duration

Minimum Compensation: USD 56,000
Maximum Compensation: USD 196,000
Compensation is based on actual experience and qualifications of the candidate. The above is a reasonable and a good faith estimate for the role.
