Team Leader, CNC Machining - Night Shift

Position Summary
The Teams Leader is responsible for the direction and flow of component orders through assigned work centers to meet defined delivery dates. You will determine equipment and people resources required to meet production requirements and assigns/directs resources as needed to meet delivery deadlines. Must know the status of each order within their assigned area. Also responsible for assessing the training needs of machinists within the scope of their work center. This is an overnight, swing shift position. Three days Mon-Wed. Four days Mon - Thurs.

Duties
- Expert ability to interpret technical prints.
- Provide part quotation from technical drawings which include estimated program, set up, and cycle labor plus material size and machine used.
- Expert knowledge and use of CNC machine G&M codes and troubleshooting skills to identify and edit program improvements.
- Trains senior CNC machining personnel in Espirit programming methods
- Directs and coaches team members on order output, order timeliness, quality, and also assigns work orders.
- Effectively utilizes team members to complete repair orders in a timely manner and to the highest quality standards.
- Assess team members skills to determine training requirements. Trains new and existing machinists as needed and contributes to the performance evaluation process.
- Determines equipment to be used in the manufacturing of parts, creates programming, completes machine set up and operates machine.
- Responsible for evaluating job set up, troubleshooting issues, and implementing corrective action as necessary to produce component part to drawing specification.
- Abides by all company safety and health policies and procedures as defines. Must use personal protective equipment if required.
Education Degree
Vocational/TechnicalRequired Experience
- Minimum of five (5) years CNC Machining experience in addition to Vocational/Technical degree or minimum eight (8) years CNC Machining experience in lieu of degree
- Demonstrated leadership skills in team building and organization
- CNC set up
- CNC Espirit programming
- Data entry system experience
- CAM software experience
- Expert level of reading and interpreting technical drawings
- Good hand/eye coordination (manual dexterity), basic organizational and troubleshooting/problem solving skills
- Strong attention to detail in order to recognize defects
- Ability to work independently and be a self-starter in a field-based environment
- Willingness to listen and learn, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to sit and stand for an extended period
- Willing to work overtime and hours outside normal business hours as needed, based on Customer needs.
- Possess strong Customer service skills and be able to effectively communicate with Customers, peers, and management
- Mechanical aptitude and basic PC skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office products required
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot most issues
- Proven track record of high-quality production
- Demonstrated strong mathematical aptitude
- Achieves technical mastery of equipment and develops it in others
- Good understanding of mechanical processes, both hands on and theory
- Demonstrated skills in servant leadership, problem solving, coaching, and training
