Systems Engineer - Linux/OpenShift/VMware/L2 Networking

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Systems Engineer who will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining Linux, OpenShift, VMware, and L2 Networking solutions specifically tailored to Dell products. Your expertise in these technologies, combined with your knowledge of Dell infrastructure, will be crucial in ensuring the stability, security, and optimal performance of our systems.

Responsibilities:

• Design, deploy, and manage Linux-based systems on Dell hardware, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of various distributions (e.g., Ubuntu, CentOS, Red Hat) on Dell PowerEdge servers.
• Implement and maintain OpenShift container platform on Dell infrastructure, including cluster setup, pod management, and application deployment using Kubernetes orchestration.
• Manage and administer Dell EMC VMware virtualization infrastructure, including Dell PowerEdge servers, Dell EMC vCenter Server, and virtual machines.
• Configure and maintain Dell PowerSwitch networking infrastructure, including switches, routers, VLANs, and network security protocols.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather system requirements, provide technical expertise, and ensure successful integration of Dell products within the overall infrastructure.
• Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement necessary optimizations to enhance system efficiency and reliability on Dell hardware.
• Conduct regular system audits, security assessments, and patch management specifically for Dell products to ensure compliance and minimize vulnerabilities.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to Linux, OpenShift, VMware, and L2 networking components on Dell infrastructure.
• Collaborate with the IT team to develop and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans specifically for Dell products.
• Stay updated with the latest Dell technologies and solutions, recommending and implementing best practices to optimize performance and reliability.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Systems Engineer, with expertise in Linux, OpenShift, VMware, and L2 networking, specifically on Dell products.
• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with Linux administration, including various distributions, command-line tools, and shell scripting on Dell PowerEdge servers.
• Proficiency in deploying and managing OpenShift container platform on Dell infrastructure, including experience with Kubernetes orchestration.
• Extensive experience in managing and maintaining Dell EMC VMware virtualization infrastructure, including Dell PowerEdge servers and Dell EMC vCenter Server.
• Solid understanding of L2 networking principles, protocols (e.g., VLAN, STP), and network security concepts on Dell PowerSwitch networking equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to quickly identify and resolve system-related issues on Dell products.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Dell-related certifications such as Dell EMC Proven Professional, Dell Certified Systems Engineer (DCSE), or equivalent certifications are highly desirable.
