The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science in the School of Science and Engineering at Duquesne University invites applications for a full-time tenure track Assistant Professor of Computer Science with an open area of expertise, beginning in fall 2025. The successful candidate will join twenty other full-time departmental faculty. While teaching undergraduate computer science courses will be expected, we are particularly interested in a candidate who is also willing and able to offer graduate courses in our MS in Computer Science program. The department strives to accommodate each faculty member's teaching preferences, including the creation of new courses. Tenure track faculty members are expected to perform well both in the classroom and as researchers.
Qualifications
The successful candidate must have:
Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related discipline
Ability to establish a nationally recognized and funded research program.
Exceptional promise in teaching at the undergraduate level.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the University Community.

Applicants are asked to submit three letters of reference, one of which addresses teaching specifically, a teaching statement, a research statement, CV, and a cover letter along with the application. Review of applications will begin October, 15th 2024 and continue until the position is filled.
