Sourcing Associate

POSITION SUMMARY

The Sourcing Associate builds relationships with suppliers establishing strategic options to obtain the lowest total cost of ownership. The associate manages data, systems and processes to ensure accurate reporting of metrics, on time performance and cost management, to ensure suppliers are servicing the business at the highest level. This team member uses analytical and quantitative methods to understand, predict, and enhance supply chain processes with the supply base. Essential Functions Statements

• Industrial item Sourcing: Solicit item bid proposals aligned with the best opportunities for savings, fostering collaboration and trust with potential and existing suppliers to support acquisition and execution of contract requirements.
• System and data management: Effectively uses existing systems and tools to manage the high volume of industrial components and track execution of standard operating procedures.
• Supplier Performance Tracking: Track metrics to support development and reporting of supplier scorecard, focusing on KPIs such as sourcing improvements, cost reduction goals, on-time delivery percentage, high-quality standards, and leveraging sourcing capabilities to foster supplier collaboration.
• Policy and Compliance: Ensure that the supply base operates in full compliance with current policies and procedures, particularly in areas of quality and product certification, driving process improvements to align with evolving business needs.
• Effective Communication: Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills to facilitate transparent and productive dialogues with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Analytical Expertise: Utilize sound planning, analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills to gather and interpret relevant data, investigate issues, identify root causes, and develop solutions to drive supplier relationships and cost savings.
• Performance Reporting: Develop periodic performance reports and distribute them to stakeholders, promoting transparency and accountability in supplier relationships.
• Analytical Support: Provide critical analytical support for projects, new business opportunities, and proposals, incorporating supplier insights into decision-making processes.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) from four-year college or university; and up to two years of business-related experience and/or training; or the equivalent combination of training and relevant business experience.

COMPUTER SKILLS

• Google Suite
• Adobe Creative Suite
• Understanding and experience with NetSuite or equivalent ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY
