Description

As a Cloud Developer Advocate at Verily, you’ll develop technical training material, tools, sample code, and reusable artifacts that help teach Verily developers how to best use public cloud technology. Your work will impact all of Verily’s technology teams and products. As a member of the Production Engineering and Cloud Operations team, you will collaborate with SRE and Cloud Experts to develop advanced training plans and implement them. You will measure progress and impact of your work by collecting data and building analysis tools to give visibility to leadership and enable iterative improvement. It is important in this role that you are very organized, manage schedules, and communicate very well cross-functionally. You will also help define best practices and evangelize new and important technologies and capabilities to the broader engineering organization. 

Responsibilities 

• Develop reusable training materials, tools, software examples and share with Verily engineers through multiple channels. 
• Manage multiple interdependent projects of moderate to high complexity and scope.
• Help define and broadcast new standards and best practices.
• Exercise technical judgment in working with large, cross-functional teams.
• Communicate with all levels and types of employees.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications 

• Practical experience and/or Bachelor’s degree in related technical field.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages (Java, Python, or Go).
• 5+ years of experience in a Developer Advocacy role or as a technical lead within a technology company.
• Experience with core Google Cloud and AWS technologies.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing cloud based distributed applications.
• Experience presenting to large and small teams of engineers.
• Familiarity with data analytics and machine learning.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $148,000-$227,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
