Butterfly Keeper- Part Time

Beautiful butterflies will once again flutter through our Hilbert Conservatory this Spring, and part-time Butterfly Keepers will be needed now through November to care for them! The pay rate for this position is $13.00 per hour.

Butterfly Keepers will care for the exhibit and answer guests' questions, as well as observe guest and butterfly interactions. Strong candidates will be able to patiently provide exceptional customer service and have the ability to learn and explain butterfly behavior. Butterfly Keepers must have excellent interpersonal skills, maintain a professional demeanor, and project a professional appearance due to regular visitor contact and special events.

Responsibilities and requirements include:

· Receive and inventory butterfly chrysalis shipments

· Monitor chrysalis development

· Feed butterflies

· Clean and maintain office and exhibit space

· Ability to stand for long periods of time

· Evenings, weekends, and holiday shifts are required.
