Are you a caregiver who values consistency and connection — but also has the skills to support clients with a wide range of care needs? Tandem Care is hiring compassionate, experienced caregivers for our Companion Care program, supporting seniors who want to age comfortably and safely at home.

About This Role:

At Tandem, “Companion Care” refers to longer-term, assignment-based roles. That means you’ll work regular, recurring shifts (minimum 6 hours) with one or two clients each week. While some people hear “companion care” and think it’s just social — this is full-scope non-medical caregiving. You’ll help with personal care, mobility, safety, meal prep, light housekeeping, and more.

We’ll match you with clients based on your availability, preferences, and experience — and we provide real support from a team that knows your name.

Tandem also offers a different, fast-paced model called Targeted Care. If you’re more interested in short, dynamic visits and working with many clients per day, check out those open roles here. This job is only for assignment-based, longer-shift care.

This role is a great fit if you:

• Want a consistent schedule and long-term client relationships

• Prefer 6+ hour shifts with just 1–2 clients

• Are comfortable with hands-on personal care and dementia support

• Have weekday availability (ideally 5 days/week) or full weekend availability

• Are patient, reliable, and proactive

• Have a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle

Not a fit if you:

• Only want on-call, overnight, or occasional shifts

• Are not comfortable helping with bathing, hygiene, or incontinence care

• Can’t commit to a steady schedule each week

• Don’t drive or lack access to reliable transportation

Requirements:

• Active Home Care Aide (HCA) registration in California
  → Must have completed a Live Scan background check
  → Check your HCA status here

• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle

• Smartphone (iPhone or Android) to access scheduling and communication apps

• Strong communication skills and reliability — our clients count on you
